"The Mr. Gone font was created by Daniel S. Dunnam and S. Steven Struble based on the lettering style that Mike Heisler used to letter the character Mr. Gone." So announced LDB to the list in December of 1997.

The font, available in TrueType and PostScript formats, must be requested directly by mailing LDB (don't forget to specify your desired format - when in doubt, ask for TrueType).

Yeah, I have it, and yeah, other people have it too, but only LDB can give it out. Copyright and all that. Anyhow, here's a sample of the font, which, as you can see, is pretty keen:
